Kenya is a warm, dry country with seasonal rainfall. Rain falls mainly in two seasons: the first between April and July; the second in October/November. Generally sunny and warm, with occasional showers-practically perfect vacation weather, amazing blue skies with an astonishment of clouds, and right on the equator. The coast is humid and hot with an above average annual rainfall of over 1,000mm.

FOOD

Kenya’s cuisine reflects the diversity of its varied cultural influences especially at the coast which has developed a culinary style, thanks to its Indian Ocean trade. Traditional foods tend to be starchy with Ugali (maize meal cake) being the staple food, it is usually taken with vegetables and stews. Nyama Choma (mutton, goat or beef roasted over glowing charcoal is a typical Kenyan experience. Must haves include game meat from “The Carnivore” and the coastal cuisine with sea foods dipped in exotic sauces fantastic coastal foods
