Ngorongoro Crater is set in Northern Tanzania Safari Circuit, sharing part of the Serengeti plains to the north-west and with the towns of Arusha and Moshi, and Mount Kilimanjaro, to the east, and forms part of the unique Serengeti ecosystem. A major ecological survey of the Serengeti Reserve (which at the time included the Ngorongoro) by Dr. Bernhard Grizmek and his late son in the 1950's resulted in the establishment of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in 1959. The oversight and management of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area was provided by the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area was a pioneering experiment in multiple land use where pastoralism, conservation and tourism could all co-exist under agreement. At the same time, the Serengeti National Park was enlarged and extended northwards towards Kenya border, where is border the Masai Mara National Reserve

Day 3:Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Serengeti National Park
Breakfast and continue to the vast Serengeti National Park stopping at Ol Duvai Gorge, sight of the famous archeological guides by the Leakey family. Lunch at the Seronera campsite and afternoon game viewing where the large herds of Wild beast, Zebra, and Gazelle roam the plains. Dinner and overnight at Campsite.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park
Morning and afternoon game drives in the Serengeti with a lunch and leisure break at the campsite in the mid afternoon. It is possible to view all the big five. Animals here are seen in very large herds, especially wildebeest, zebra gazelle and other antelopes. The park is one of the largest in the world; it's animal concentration and abundance is unequalled. The annual migration of wildebeest and zebra occurs in this park in May/June. In the parks central plains there are carnivores like lion. Leopard, hyenas and cheetah. Rest of meal and overnight at campsite.
Serengeti comes from the Maasai word "Siring" meaning "Endless Plain", which really is what it means: hundreds of kilometers of flat surface land, better termed "The Sea of Grass On Plains". The first understanding about Serengeti comes from its distinction of the ecosystem from the Serengeti National Park itself. The ecosystem encompasses the following: Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area in the south east, Ikorongo, Grumeti and Maswa Game Reserves in the western pockets, the Loliondo Game Control Area (also known as government approved hunting blocks) in the north east, and in the north by the famous Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya, thus the Serengeti National Park itself is cushioned within these game control and reserves. The Serengeti ecosystem is approximately 27,000 square kilometers and the park is documented at 14,763 square kilometers.

Day 5:Serengeti National Park - Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, depart Serengeti for Tarangire National Park, lunch enroute The park has an atmosphere of remoteness and has fewer visitors than all the other parks in Tanzania's entire northern circuit. Blue monkeys, hornbills, pelicans, herons can be seen as well as elephants in large herds, cheetah, jackal, fish eagle, marabou stork, and hippos. Dinner and overnight at campsite.
Tarangire National Park has the highest number of elephants in the whole of the Northern Tanzania parks, exceeding Lake Manyara and Serengeti. There have also been a 550 bird species recorded in the Tarangire National Park, making a sure pleaser for any bird lover. The park displays a diverse number of wildlife namely: elephant, lesser and great kudu, African buffalo, cheetah, fringe-eared Oryx, leopard, lion, Maasai giraffe, spotted hyena, common zebra, white-bearded wildebeest, warthog, eland, olive baboon, bat-eared fox, impala, common waterbuck, bushbuck, coke's hartebeest, gerenuk, and bohor reedbuck.
Superb Landscape and Vegetation: The landscape and vegetation at Tarangire combines a mix not found in Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater or Serengeti, common parks visited on the northern safari circuit in Tanzania, making it a worthwhile visit to experience something totally different.
