KENYA CAMPING SAFARIS
Kenya Camping Safaris are designed for those in search of a real adventure, joining safari for who enjoy the unpredictable wilderness. On safaris you are expected to help with the camp chores. Your meals will be prepared by our expert safaris cook over wood fires. Those who join are from all walks of life and nationalities usually between 16 and 60 years. Age however is not the criteria all that's needed is a sense of humor, a willingness to participate and a spirit of adventure.
DEA 05: 5 DAYS MAASAI MARA | LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK
Day 1: Nairobi - Maasai Mara Game Reserve
After arrival met at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport briefed by a Destination East Africa guide and drive through the Great Rift Valley to Maasai Mara with a picnic lunch en route. Afternoon spent game viewing. Return to your Campsite for Dinner and Overnight.
Day 2: Maasai Mara Game Reserve
Spend full day in the Masai Mara with both morning and afternoon game viewing. All meals and overnight at the Campsite.
Day 3: Maasai Mara Game Reserve
This will be a full day of tracking game with your guide , after an early breakfast proceed for the game drives with picnic lunch boxes. The Mara's landscape is scenic savannah grassland on rolling hills, which enables the reserve to attract sufficient rainfall to maintain and support a large population of herbivores, together with the predators that follow. Elephant, Lion, Buffalo can be seen with relative ease though luck is a necessary factor for spotting Rhino and Leopard that completes the big five as the two animals are very timid and sparsely numbered. Plains game like wild beest , Zebra and masai giraffe abound as well as hippos and a wide variety of antelopes including Impala , dik dik , hartebeest , Grants, Gazelle and Thompson's gazelle among others. All meals and overnight at the Campsite.
Day 4: Maasai Mara - Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast depart Maasai Mara with scenery viewing on the way to Lake Nakuru with lunch enroute arriving Nakuru in the early evening before spending the night at the Budget hotel.
The Great Rift Valley is geologic phenomena, which divides Kenya neatly down the length of the country essentially separating east from west. Today's Rift Valley is characterized by uninhabitable desert and fertile farmland, flat arid plains, steep escarpments and 07 lakes in Kenya. Proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park and immediately embark on a game drive that takes you around the shores of the lake, made famous by its thousands of flamingos that form a pink hue across its shores. Lake Nakuru National Park is also a Rhino sanctuary and contains plenty of other plains game. Dinner and overnight at the Budget Hotel.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru National Park – Nairobi - Departure
After breakfast proceed for an extensive morning game run in the park the world famous bird sanctuary and National Park where sight of millions or more flamingoes has been described by Sir Peter Scott as " the world's greatest bird spectacle ".. After lunch drive back to Nairobi where your tour ends in the late afternoon.
