DEA 10: 14 Days Mara – Nakuru- Samburu – Turkana - Amboseli

Day 01: Nairobi -Maasai Mara Game Reserve
Depart Nairobi after arrival and proceed to the Mara with a stop-over at the great Rift Valley. Lunch will be taken in Narok arriving in the Mara at around 1630 hrs in time for an introductory gamedrive. Overnight at the Campsite.

Day 2:  Maasai Mara Game Reserve
This will be a full day of tracking game with your guide , after an early breakfast proceed for the game drives with picnic lunch boxes. The Mara's landscape is scenic savannah grassland on rolling hills , which enables the reserve to attract sufficient rainfall to maintain and support alarge population of herbivores , together with the predators that follow. Elephant , Lion , Buffalo can be seen with relative ease though luck is a necessary factor for spotting Rhino and Leopard that complete the big five as the two animals are very timid and sparsely numbered. Plains game like wild beest , Zebra and masai giraffe abound as well as hippos and a wide variety of antelopes including Impala , dik dik , hartebeest , Grants, Gazelle and Thompson's gazelle among others. All meals and overnight at the Campsite.

Day 3: Maasai Mara - Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast leave the camp for Lake Nakuru  with a brief stopover at the safari junction . After proceed to Nakuru via Lake Elementaita stopping for panoramic and scenery viewing arriving Nakuru in time for lunch after visit the world famous bird sanctuary and National Park where sight of millions or more flamingoes has been described by Sir Peter Scott as " the world's greatest bird spectacle".There is also much game to be seen before spending the night at a budget hotel.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru - Samburu Game Reserve
Depart Nakuru after breakfast and drive heading North via the shoulder of Mt Kenya to Samburu Game Reserve. Accommodation in our semi-permanent campsite beautifully set under a canopy of trees or pitch tents on the edge of Ewaso Nyiro River.

Day 5: Samburu Game Reserve
The day is spent game viewing in the park. Elephant abound; you may see Lion, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk, Gravy’s Zebra and Beisa Oryx. Dinner and Overnight at the Campsite.

Day 6: Samburu - Marsabit
We head north again along the Trans-African highway to Marsabit, which is an extinct volcano heavily, forested on its upper slopes. After setting up camp, we will visit the lodge inside the National Park. You may see Elephant, Buffalo and Greater Kudu as the lodge is situated on the edge of a water-filled crater. We do not go further into the park as thick forest hampers the progress of large vehicles and viewing is difficult.

Day 7:  Marsabit - Kalacha
We visit Marsabit town and another volcanic crater before making our way back into the desert and lava flows. We camp at Kalacha, a small settlement on the edge of the Chalbi Desert.

Day 8: Kalacha - Lake Turkana Expedition
We depart early crossing the Chalbi Desert. The desert cannot be crossed if wet but there are alternative roads around the North and South. We arrive at our semi permanent beach campsite just outside Loiyangalani soon after lunch. Here we have our traditional Turkana Huts with a cool breeze blowing from the lake for use if available otherwise we pitch tents in an alternative campsite. Indeed a perfect place to relax protected from the searching sun and heat characteristic of the harsh climate of this remote area.

Day 09:  Lake Turkana
We spend the day relaxing and bathing only interrupted by a short boat excursion to visit the surrounding areas, in addition we visit Loiyangalani and the community settled there, while in the evening we may visit one of the Turkana Manyattas for traditional dances under the star studded sky at an extra cost if clients wish. Unforgettable experience.

Day 10: Lake Turkana - Maralal
We journey via South Horr and Baragoi to Maralal, Another forested area. The Samburu abound in their red-ochre.

Day 11: Maralal - Nairobi
Heading south again via Laikipia Plains and Thomson’s Falls (Nyahururu) we drive back into Nairobi arriving by mid afternoon. Overnight at the budget hotel.

Day 12: Nairobi-Amboseli National Park
After breakfast leave Nairobi and drive back across Masai Country which is enlightened by the sight of the proud warriors and wildlife scattered across the plains, often in cross proximity to domestic stock. Amboseli National Park is reached in time for Lunch and later proceed for evening game drive which  enables you to explore this wonderful park set so picture sequel to the foot of Africa's highest mountain Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.

Day 13: Amboseli National Park
Full Day in Amboseli with game drives at 0630 hrs and 1600 hrs. Amboseli National Park, at the foot of Africa's highest mountain, Kilimanjaro, is one of Kenya's most popular national parks.  It lies 150 miles south-east of Nairobi, very close to the Tanzania border. The snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro rising above the clouds dominates every aspect of Amboseli. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and overnight at the campsite.

Day 14: Amboseli-Nairobi - Departure
Leave Amboseli after morning game drive and thereafter drive  back to Nairobi arriving in time to catch your flight back home.
